This sofa is the perfect blend of brains and beauty.  It's pretty to look at, and designed and built so well, it will stay chic and comfy for years.  We especially like it for its classic Belgian silhouette. 

How the Belgian Slope Arm Sofa is made

Each frame is made of select hardwoods or engineered hardwoods from certified sustainable forests.  The joints are either double doweled and blocked on every corner or mortise and tenon joinery construction.  

The padding material is a combination of recycled fiber, soy-based FR free foam and synthetic batting. 

Fiber in back cushions is 100% recycled.

Cushioning is made from premium quality soy based foam that replaces 30% of petroleum based ingredients, wrapped in 80% regenerated fibers, and covered wtih 50% cotton/50% poly FR free down proof ticking. 

Springs are 8 way hand tied and made with 80% recycled metal components.  Steel strapping is used for spring support. 

Sustainable furniture definitely makes an impact on our environment. The higher the quality means that customers will keep their furniture for longer periods of time, rather than replacing it after a few years (which is what happens with lower quality products). Our supplier manufactures long-lasting furniture made in the USA. The longevity of our furniture prevents it from being discarded in landfills, leaving a smaller environmental footprint on our earth.

Our soy-based seat cushions offer better comfort, consistency and durability than conventional seating packages. Our very low VOC finishes reduce harmful chemicals, providing the same beautiful hues. Our product gives you a better quality of life in your home.

Even with a global supply network, 98% of the components in in our sofas  are supplied domestically, and most suppliers are in our home state of North Carolina. This includes the frames, foam, springs, cotton ticking, decking, fabrics, and packaging. Local suppliers mean local employment and reduced transportation costs and CO2 emissions.
